About the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center
The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor
Center at Duke University Medical Center is one of the largest
and most successful in the field. Dedicated
entirely to the treatment and cure of brain and spinal tumors in children and
adults, they combine the resources of a leading research hub with a commitment
to the best in patient care. The Center was established in 1937 as one of the
first brain tumor research and clinical programs in the United States. Since
then, it has become one of the top pediatric and adult neuro-oncology programs
in the world, leading the way in comprehensive care with a unique combination
of research breakthroughs, clinical trials, and the newest therapies. Beyond
that, they translate scientific advances from their research laboratories to
state-of-the-art treatments for their patients.
The Center's researchers and physicians are passionate about understanding
the "how" and "why" of brain tumors as they continue to develop new, more
effective techniques for surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy.
Research is devoted not only to providing the most effective treatment, but
also to improving the quality of life for patients and their families as they
face the challenges of living with brain tumors. Much of the success of the
Center comes from the commitment of countless physicians, nurses, researchers,
and staff —- all with the collective goal of caring for patients and their
families, improving the quality of everyday life, and ultimately finding a
cure.
We at CyTunes extend our most heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Tisch Center
for the competent and compassionate care they gave to Cy during his illness. We
hope that our collective memorial contributions can help them in their
missions: to find better treatments for brain tumors and to provide those
treatments to patients in need. All proceeds from CyTunes (less only the Google
transaction fee) benefit the Tisch Center.
